The pragmatic, web-oriented nature of MWD² clearly delineates it from the more theory-based computer science (CS) program and the more business-oriented management information systems (MIS) program. While MWD² incorporates aspects of both, the emphasis is different. The MWD² major focuses on the application of available software for use in information technology using the Internet and other interactive media as its vehicles. The authoring of web-aware multimedia material serves as a common thread to unite the major. The primary goal of MWD² is to prepare its graduates to competitively enter the quickly changing Internet and multimedia job market.
