Classroom and Laboratory
The MWD² classroom and laboratory run Windows 7 on Dell OptiPlex 780 platforms with OptiPlex 780 Core2 Quad processors and 8GB RAM.
Network
The MWD² classrooms and labs are connected via a Gigabit (1000Mbps) LAN. Internet connectivity is provided by the Connecticut Education Network (CEN). CEN supplies the University of Hartford with a high speed backbone and connection to Internet2.
Servers
The MWD² program is supported by a variety of servers, both physical and virtual, that run Microsoft Windows, Red Hat Enterprise Linux and Apple Snow Leopard. These systems provide essential support such as web, terminal, mail, and application services to the labs, as well as serve as development environments for students and faculty.
A Dell PowerEdge R515, AMD Opteron™ 6 core processor, 64GB RAM, and over 3TB of RAID-6 storage provides the platform for virtualized servers.
