Academics

The Multimedia Web Design and Development program is unique to the University of Hartford. It combines courses across many disciplines. MWD² students take core courses in web development and Internet programming along with courses in areas such as business, technical writing, communication, and psychology. This enables students to pursue not only careers in traditional information technology roles, such as network administration, but also in areas such as multi-media development, web application programming, usability testing, technical writing, Internet marketing, and more. Multimedia Web Design and Development students are more than just programmers.

Specializations

One of MWD²'s most important features is the specialization component that allows students to customize their academic experience. Specializations supplement each student's core MWD² courses by allowing them to focus on a particular area of interest. For example, a student in the Media Arts specialization will take a series of art and design courses and a student specializing in Network Administration will take courses in networking, MIS, and computer science.
